On July 1, 2020, the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) and the Canadian Solar Industry Association (CanSIA) will evolve and transition to a new association called the Canadian Renewable Energy Association.
The Canadian Renewable Energy Association is the voice for wind energy, solar energy and energy storage solutions that will power Canada’s energy future.
The new Association will work to create the conditions for a modern energy system through stakeholder advocacy and public engagement. Its diverse members will be uniquely positioned to deliver clean, low-cost, reliable, flexible and scalable solutions for Canada’s energy needs. Its vision is to ensure wind energy, solar energy and energy storage play a central role in transforming Canada’s energy mix.
The Canadian Renewable Energy Association will work to advance the interests of the solar energy, wind energy, and energy storage industries, and promote deployment across Canada at multiple scales – from behind-the-meter (BTM) residential and commercial/industrial projects, through to utility-scale front-of-the-meter (FTM) projects.
The new Association, with its expanded mandate, will create a stronger advocacy voice and deliver an enhanced value proposition for members.
