Alberta Procures Another 763 MW Of Wind Power

Through the latest two phases of the Alberta government’s Renewable Electricity Program (REP), the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) will secure power from five new wind farms representing 763 MW of capacity and an average weighted price of C$39/MWh.
The investments, totaling C$1.2 billion, come from Albertan companies, as well as from investors outside the province – e.g., Ontario and France. Notably, three of the wind projects are private-sector partnerships with First Nations.
