Photo Parade: “Wind and Solar Energy in Alberta” – Edmonton Reception
November 11, 2015
Over the past few weeks, the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) and the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) have been working hard and collaboratively in Alberta to get folks talking about the actions required to enable the Alberta Government to successfully meet its objective to increase renewable energy investment and development in response to the need to respond to climate change.
The commitment by the Alberta government to review and strengthen Alberta’s climate change policy framework represents a tremendous opportunity for Alberta and Albertans to begin the transition to a low-carbon future…and Premier Notley has indicated we will hear at least some of the Alberta Government’s plans before the end of the month.
Last week, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, CanWEA and CanSIA hosted a successful renewable energy reception in Edmonton to provide a forum for legislators, government officials, industry and other stakeholders to meet and discuss the importance of wind and solar energy in combating climate change and the specific policy measures the Associations proposed to the Alberta government as part of its call for input into its planning process.
