GHG Reductions from Enhanced Electrification of Potential New Industrial Demand in British Columbia
Prepared for the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) by the Pembina Institute
Wind energy is well positioned to limit huge increases in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) that would result from powering new industrial developments with fossil fuels, according to a new report by the Pembina Institute. The report, GHG Reductions from Enhanced Electrification of Potential New Industrial Demand in British Columbia, determines the potential GHG reductions that would result from fully electrifying new industrial developments in the province with clean and renewable grid-based electricity.

WindVision 2025: A Strategy for British Columbia demonstrates that BC will require more electricity generation to meet its own in-province needs, which are projected to increase rapidly over the next decade. The document links the compatibility of wind energy with the province's existing clean energy targets and British Columbians' expectations for cost-competitive, low-impact, zero-emission electricity.

Review of CanWEA's BC WindVision Analysis
Prepared for the Canadian Wind Energy Association by ClearkSky Advisors Inc.
ClearSky Advisors were asked to comment on CanWEA's BC WindVision document pertaining to the economic benefit to the province. ClearSky has reviewed the analysis and generally found the statements to be reasonable and conservative estimates for the economic benefits of a wind energy sector in BC.

British Columbians want energy independence and strongly support more wind energy as a source of clean electricity, poll finds
The Oracle Research poll commissioned by CanWEA, found that seventy-six per cent of British Columbians strongly agree or agree wind energy should be further developed as a source of clean electricity. The poll, conducted on Sept. 26 – 27, also found that 84 per cent of British Columbians want the province to produce enough power to meet the needs of residents without importing energy.
