The success of wind power projects in the last Clean Power Call, the advent of the new Clean Energy Act and growing interest across the country in the development of wind energy are all indications that opportunities continue to expand for the industry.  

The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) is the voice of the wind industry across Canada. British Columbia has a tremendous wind resource and has only begun to scratch the surface of its opportunity to incorporate wind energy as viable, clean and cost effective component of British Columbia’s energy mix.  Recognizing the potential for new wind energy development under the Clean Energy Act,  CanWEA will be holding a two-day seminar to provide insight and information on this exciting industry and what is required to capitalize on its potential in British Columbia. 

Participants to this event will gain insight into such important issues as:

• Updates on wind energy development in BC
• The new and evolving regulatory framework for future wind energy development in BC
• How wind energy can address BC’s own electricity needs and desire for export
• The importance of proactive and effective community consultations in wind energy development.

Room Rate:  $129.00 plus applicable taxes

Deadline:  A limited number of rooms have been arranged for attendees of the seminar.  These rooms will be available until Tuesday November 23rd, 2010, or until the block is full, whichever comes first.  Once this date has passed, the hotel will continue to accept reservations if there are still rooms available, however they may be at a higher rate.
